New Colony at Washington State University
Alpha Rho Chi welcomes the new Sostratus Colony.
On Monday, January 28, 2008 the Grand Council accepted the petition of 19 students at Washington State University in Pullman to be recognized as a colony of Alpha Rho Chi.
The new colony's has selected Sostratus as its namesake. A Greek architect of the 3rd Century, B.C., Sostratus of Cnidus is best known for designing the Pharos of Alexandria. This lighthouse at the the entrance to harbor of Alexandria, Egypt was among the seven wonders of the ancient world. The Grand Council and national fraternity congratulates the students forming this colony on this important milestone. Alpha Rho Chi looks forward to a future chapter at Washington State University.
